HOW DOES THE CATALOG WORK? - Produced by STATE, the catalogs are invite-only. We curate a diverse lineup of makers and brands that contribute to each issue. Past issues have featured anywhere from 10-30 brands!  All items in the catalog are limited-edition and exclusive in some way to the Secret Catalog. It makes for a fun, unique shopping experience unlike anything else out there.

To get the catalog, customers pre-order the issue a few months before it releases. There will only be a limited run available, so be sure to jump on it when they’re up for pre-sale. 

The catalogs do cost money to purchase, in part because they cost a lot of money to produce and we don't like to skimp on the details. Starting with our 8th issue, a portion of all catalog sales will be donated to a selection of charities. Organizations will be selected at the time that catalogs are available for pre-order based on causes that feel relevant to the current moment.

The Secret Catalog is part shopping catalog, part magazine, and we include lots of wonderful little treats. Sending excellent mail is a love language, one that we speak pretty well. So we strive to make each catalog feel like a gift when it arrives in your mailbox.  Along with great content and treats, each catalog contains a password and the date and time that the exclusive Secret Catalog online store opens. Shoppers use the password to access the store and scoop up all of the limited edition goods.

Since many items are one of a kind or part of a limited run, things sell fast.  We’ve done this for years now, and there’s just no way around it. We like to think it’s all part of the fun of the catalog. So throw some elbows and get in there!

After a few weeks, we remove the password lock and allow anyone to come and shop what is still available.

Can I exchange something?   

Absolutely! We accept exchanges within 30 days of receipt. Send your item back to the address below, and we can exchange for a different size, color, or we can send along a discount code for the value as soon as your item is received.

How do I return an item?   

Clothing returns are accepted if postmarked within 5 days of receipt for unused, unworn items with their original tags and/or packaging. All clothing returns are subject to a $10 restocking fee. Postage costs are not refundable. After 5 days, all sales are final. The Secret Catalog has the right to deny a refund if the merchandise returned does not meet our return policy requirements.Customers are responsible for insuring returns when shipped back. The Secret Catalog can not issue a refund or store credit until an item is physically back in the studio and we have inspected it. We are not responsible for lost packages, or packages that are mistakenly marked as delivered by carriers.

Why do you charge a restocking fee? 

We’re a small company and are happy to offer returns and exchanges on our items. But, in the age of Amazon and frequent returns, we were noticing an increase in bulk ordering. The labor to unbox a return, process the refund, and prepare the piece to be sold again was adding up and had to be balanced somehow - thus the Restocking Fee was born.  We hope it encourages thoughtful consumerism and deep consideration of a piece and the fit before it’s purchased. The Restocking Fee is waived if you’re making an exchange. 

When are sales final? 

All purchases from our SALE page and britches, are final. Also, any items ordered during a sale are also Final Sale.

Can I cancel an order?

Sometimes we change our minds! If you need to cancel an order for any reason, just send us an email and we will process the cancellation as quickly as possible. If you request a cancellation, but the item is already shipped, feel free to return the item and we can waive the restocking fee for you.


How long will it take for my order to ship?

We try our best to list an accurate time frame on each product page. In most cases of an item being Made to Order, it will take 2-4 weeks to cut, sew and ship. We strive to give customers a realistic time frame for MTO pieces, but our estimates are subject to the ebbs and flows of a handmade company. Thank you for always being patient! We'll do our best to keep you updated with any unforeseen delays should they arise.And in some cases, a certain size of a style may be in stock and can ship immediately. If you’d like a piece sooner, please email or call us at (706)850-8030 to get an exact time frame on your desired order. We’ll be able to look at our current stock and give you a timeline for shipment.

How are US orders shipped?

All items are shipped via the USPS or UPS. Domestic orders are shipped using Priority Mail or UPS Ground services and usually arrive in 2-3 business days once the package hits the mail. We aim to get orders packed and out the door within 2-5 business days (made-to-order pieces usually take 2-3 weeks to ship). A tracking number will be emailed once the order is shipped. Please note that if your order contains some in stock items and some Made to Order items, it will be shipped once the Made to Order items are complete. If you would like to split the order and have in stock items shipped immediately, you can email to request the order be split. Split orders may be subject to additional shipping charges.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes!! International orders are mostly shipped via First Class Mail International. Please message us with any special delivery requests or to arrange an alternative shipping solution. STATE is not responsible for payment of any duty or import fees.

What do I do about a missing package?

The best course of action when a package is missing or mis-delivered is to reach out to your postal worker (they can be surprisingly helpful!) Occasionally packages are marked as “delivered” prematurely, or were placed at a different location (the side door, etc).  If your Post Office isn’t providing much help, reach out to us and we’ll see what we can do!

The Secret Catalog is not responsible for unexpected shipping delays caused by circumstances such as severe weather, natural disasters, or other courier delays.  We are also not responsible for packages that are lost or damaged in transit.
