Do you have a secret swimming hole (or favorite)? tell us about it.
Deep Creek in Bryson City, NC, in the Great Smoky Mountains. We camped there every year when I was growing up. We tubed down the mountain, over waterfalls, and it would always amaze me there were swimming holes so deep they were over my dad’s head. But wow, it was COLD, and swimming in a pair of old chuck taylor’s was never easy.

What is your go-to picnic fare?
Fancy cheese, fresh bread, fresh fruits & veggies. A bottle of red, a bottle of white.

Describe your dream summer ootd (outfit of the day).
A white gauzy sundress over a swimsuit, leather flip flops (made by my husband), sunglasses. And the scent of salt water and sunscreen.

Desert Island music?
On my island, there would just be reggae and spanish guitar. And for island dancing… also a little Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, & George Ezra.

What reading material clutters your nightstand?
Most of my reading is before bed with my 7 year old, and 10 month old…we like stories of adventure and imagination. Personally, I’m always looking for the next inspiring story of entrepreneurship and hard work. I’m half way through Richard Branson’s “The Virgin Way”.

What’s got you on your soapbox lately?
I’ve always been a pro at soapbox hopping. Lately I’ve been trying out the notion of “live and let live” – it helps keep my mind at ease. But one topic I’m always willing to preach on is wellness. I could convince you the right combo of yoga, apple cider vinegar and turmeric will cure whatever ails you.

Tell us about something you recently learned.
That I need a lot more sleep than I used to! I am continually looking to hone new skills that benefit my designs and products, which leads to more ideas than time. So alongside the skills, I’m trying to learn how to strike a better balance. Currently sleep deprivation is still winning.

Current obsession?
My 2 sons and my husband. We do everything together and there’s still not enough hours in the day to spend with them. They’re the center of my world. My parents and my oldest sister also live nearby. Family is everything. Other than family, I’m obsessed with vegging on the couch and watching trash TV on Bravo. I’m not ashamed to admit I’m patiently waiting for the next season of Southern Charm.

Who is your art crush?
Too many to name! Iris Apfel, Isabel Marant, Leandra Cohen, Rosie Assoulin, Mara Hoffman, Key West Pottery, Brian Andreas. And my 7 year old. First grade art is amazing.
