Do you have a secret swimming hole (or favorite)? tell us about it.
I don’t have one around here but there’s a spot near where my friend Hallie lives in Hudson that’s super dreamy. It’s everything I love about Upstate NY – You wade through some trees and follow a friend and suddenly you’re sitting on rocks watching strangers jump into the water. I honestly have no idea how to get there without her, which suits me just fine. It’s definitely been too long since I’ve been there.

What is your go-to picnic fare?
Cheese! Some nice crackers and a few different kinds of cheese, your favorite sparkly beverage and you’ve got yourself a picnic.

Describe your dream summer ootd (outfit of the day).
I always feel like I just end up channeling my inner goth, mostly because I just burn if I’m out in the sun for more than 5 minutes. An oversized hat and sunglasses, my worn in Steven Alan button down shirt, my favorite cut off jean shorts and of course my sabahs. I think I live in those shoes.

Desert Island music?
If I’m on a desert island than I hope my husband is with me which means lots of Iron Maiden and The Sword, but if I’m on my side of the island then I’m listening to “You Can Have it All” by Yo La Tengo or “Big White Cloud” by John Cale on repeat and anything else that makes me feel in love, like Pulp.

What will you be reading this summer vacation?
I have a crazy stack of magazines that I grab from when we go on vacation. It’s the only time I have to read them! I’ll even buy more while we’re away and read them until the pages are sticking together because I’m usually soaking in the tub. When I can’t turn the pages anymore, I’m on to the next one. I don’t care if it’s Vogue, Architectural Digest or Inc. Magazine. It’s one of the few things I do that feels really indulgent to me. I clearly work too much!

What’s got you on your soapbox lately?
Honestly, I try hard not to preach to others. I think people are really having their feelings right now and it’s good to figure out what is and isn’t ok in your universe. So while I might have a lot of opinions, if I am on a soapbox it’s usually me telling my friends to keep believing in themselves and know that they’re loved and capable, because they are… we all are.

Tell us about something you recently learned.
Oof. Letting go. Seriously. I spent 6 months thinking something was going to happen and it was really upsetting when it didn’t work out…at first. It forced me to let go of what I thought my life should or shouldn’t look like and be really open to the fact that there are endless possibilities in the world and getting fixated on one outcome makes my world small. It’s crazy how quickly everything changed and how much happier I am now just by shifting my perception.

Current obsession?
The new glass I’m working with!

Who is your art crush?
Albrecht Dürer.
